Who We Are

We're fighting to stop the corrosive effects of special interests in politics

Time and again, we’ve seen Missouri’s state legislators disregard the will of their constituents at the behest of unions and lobbyists.

When special interests open up their wallets in Jefferson City, legislators tend to forget their principles – and those they were elected to represent. From expensive dinners, to baseball tickets, golf outings, spa services, concert tickets, and even vacations overseas, unions and lobbyists are sure to take care of their favorite elected officials.

Perhaps that’s why they haven’t been taking care of you.

Missouri is the only state in the nation where elected officials can accept unlimited gifts and campaign contributions from registered lobbyists. With all of this unfettered influence, it’s hard to hide where their loyalties lie.

The Committee for Accountable Government in Missouri is fighting to stop the corrosive effects of special interests in politics by holding state legislators accountable for siding with labor unions and lobbyists over their constituents.
